![]() Couldn't be bothered with other cars as I assumed this is the best Proton to date (I owned Iswara, Wira, Waja, Exora Bold, Persona 1, Persona 2 - I'm a fan of Proton actually). Liked it a lot especially on the power delivery (though feel sluggish sometimes, donno why), the handling, the safety aspect. Soundproofing is the last thing you wanna do as its expensive and sometime the result is not up to your expectations after paying so much.Ĭheaper alternative is you try going for door soundproof first. Not to forget plss change your CVT oil earlier and do a clutch adaptation. Then make sure use quality engine oil ( recommended fully synthetic ) and change every 7k km for smoothers and quieter engine. Then change all 4 mounting on the engine and transmission. Change all 4 include absorber mountings and bump stops. Other things you might need to change for your 2013 Suprima is the absorber. If out of budget, downgrade your 17 inch rim to 16 inch and use Continental CC6 instead. It's under UHP category and stick like a semi click tyre.Ĭhange to Primacy 3st and you will be shock how quiet you Suprima will be. You are using RE003 of course la noisy lel. P/S: if you're interested you can arrange to meet up with me to try my car. Since your car is made in year 2013, it'll also probably help loads if you get your engine/transmission mountings changed (there are 4 in total incl. It will probably help a lot if you can apply some vibration damping material on the firewall (outside and inside) and around the foot well as well before placing some medium-high frequency noise absorbing material. It does not involve any vibration damping material though, so that may explain why the noise around 2000 rpm and below is not really reduced by much. *Sound deadening was done by EA Autoworks. Focus on engine noise/front floor damping/sound absorbing. The car's NVH definitely can be improved as long as you find the right shop and/or solution. It's more bearable but don't expect a quiet ride like Mazda. I bought and stuffed a whole bunch of 3M Thinsulate around the firewall (cabin side) and i the engine compartment behind the sound deadening done last time. Below that it's mostly full of noise caused by engine vibration. It reduces the noise above 2000 rpm quite significantly. I've gotten some sound deadening done for my Suprima's firewall about a year ago. ![]()
